Pretoria Engagement Photographer
With Mart-Marie & David and their colourful powder paint engagement shoot. Most of my wedding packages include a pre-wedding couple shoot, purely to get to know each other, but mainly guiding them on posing which helps for the big day. A lot of these couples have never been in front of a camera before (apart from the thousands of selfies), and these sessions work like a dream helping them to trust you as their photographer, and to feel comfortable!
These pre-wedding couple shoots are mostly my first meeting and interaction with these couples, and the first 30 minutes they would normally be very nervous and tense. I use this time to ask them questions about how they met, what they do for a living, how long they have known each other etc. – basically getting to know them – and in the process they start relaxing and it invokes memories that makes them look at each other in love all over again with the giggles and smiles! That is what I love!!!
As a professional photographer it is crucial to elevate your craft with your personality. While great images are my first priority, having an authentic way of connecting with my clients along with their family are crucial!
If you want your couple to giggle you have to make them laugh, if you want them to be passionate, you need to ask them questions about their relationship that invoke those emotions. For instance asking him to embrace her and whisper in her ear when he knew she was the one. Ask them to put their foreheads together but then ask them to pray for each other.
This was so much fun, and we really looked like aliens once we were done. You two were so much fun, and I am really looking forward to your wedding next year!
